Was a bit bored today so I thought I try a HDR effect landscape. Not done HDR much and still learning about how to do it the best way, but I thought this one worked out quite well. Not everyones taste I understand but I like it.

C+C very welcome ... even if you dont like it lol. xxxx

Nice work! Your use of HDR has balanced the exposure and kept the detail in both the sky and land, but the effect is subtle enough that the scene still looks real.

Thank you very much. I am glad its not too overdone as HDR's sometimes are. I wanted to keep it fairly real while bringing out some of the detail of the stonework that otherwise would have been lost. xx

No problem :) Your photos do look really great! What I love about digital photography is you can continually experiment and learn new tricks and techniques, especially by looking at what other people are doing. Good luck with the HDR!

Thank you very much Gerard. Yes.. digital photography really is great fun although I do like the more atmospheric affects old 35mm cameras create. But I really couldnt afford to get the films developed all the time. So I sit in front of the digital darkroom instead and try out new things. Just as much fun and less expensive. xx

I'm not sure I would have the patience or skill for 35mm photography. But I'm sure there would be a lot of satisfaction from a great shot.

I love the instant results that digital gives, and the fun of transforming the average looking shots from the camera into something I'm pleased with. Plus you can snap away and it doesn't matter if you end up ditching some shots :) .

You are completely right in all your say, except in my case it would be ditching most of the ones I take. I normally only got a few keepers out of a days work. But still... its the getting out and about and taking photos that is the fun bit, and yes... the processing afterwards. xx

Great landscape, beautiful colours. A good attempt at HDR. My advice for HDRs is to be gentle with it. Try to keep it looking real. This is a great start! :)
